5. True. I am a relatively recent transplant to LA (1994) and so have
heard only second-hand accounts of the 60s here. It does sound as if LAPD were particularly brutal to anti-war protesters in the 60s, probably even more so than towards Occupiers (if one can plausibly compare degrees of police brutality).
