For the past 30 years while the repugnant party has been preaching the gospel of greed and selfishness, the dems have been sitting on the sidelines looking dumb or trying to come up with the words for a kinder, gentler gospel of greed and selfishness. No one, until Elizabeth Warren, has been talking about how our taxes pay for civilization.

I remember when I was young and we all knew that our community was the responsibility of all who were part of it. That was something that we heard regularly and we were encouraged to volunteer for all sorts of projects that would make the community better. Our state was part of the community and our country was also part of the community in which we lived. The whole idea of civilization is that we work together to build a better life for all. That might be called collectivism, if so, I have no problem with that.
