Thanks for asking, I'm still here. I've been here all along, it's just that I'm turned into a "lurker." This is my first post in ages. But I thought I'd come out of lurk mode for a little bit since you were kind enough to ask about me.
I must say, not long after Obama became president, I grew very discouraged about politics. I'd been really hoping things would change with a new president, but it quickly became clear to me with his cabinet choices and early decisions that things weren't going to change and Obama was nearly as bad as Bush. And that blew my mind, because I had high hopes for Obama. So I stopped doing my timeline research for about two years, because it seemed rather futile. With Obama's "don't look back" policy, and the way he was going after whistleblowers and helping Bush officials avoid prosecution and so forth, I didn't see much hope that my research would help much. But a few months ago, I decided to just screw it and keep going anyway. I figure that these are very discouraging times politically, but we have to keep on keeping on or change will never happen. It may be a long road, but the truth usually does come out eventually.
Of course, "real life" stuff takes up most of my time, especially in these tough economic times, but lately I'm still finding a lot of time to add to the timeline research not only about 9/11, but the whole "war on terror," and civil liberties and torture issues as well. You should go to historycommons.org and check out what we've been up to. I also was just interviewed by Sibel Edmonds for two hours. I understand that was split in two and the first hour of that should be posted at her Boiling Frogs website on Thursday. So you might want to check that out. And by the way, we're always looking for new volunteers at historycommons - PM me if you're interested.
I'll probably go back to lurk mode here, for the most part, but thanks again for asking what I've been up to. Oh, and by the way, I was in New Zealand for a while, but some family stuff caused me to go back to San Diego, where I am now. I hope everyone is well. :)
