some more, I think they realized if they did not get rid of the graphic images, or the patdowns, Congress was going to stop funding them.

The safety issue is another factor they continue to deny. It seems from the article, although it's not entirely clear, they are not getting rid of the machines, just adding new software.

As far as the issue of civil liberties, this does address that imo. And so long as you get through the machine, this should reduce the patdown nonsense.

It is the patdowns btw, that the Texas, NY, NJ, Hawaii and a few other states legislatures are outraged over so I hope the efforts to end them continue.

In the end, as was stated before Congress last week, dogs can do just as good a job as the machines.
