I have seen this happen before too. During the 1980's my best friend and I both got laid off the same day. It was a long lay off. His wife lost her job too. They had bigger bills than we did. They had bought a house and lost that after about a year. They lost both their cars. It was a real mess.

Only place back then that was hiring was the army too. He joined up in his early 30's. I couldn't believe it.

I think it is the jobs now too.
