I suspect that point is reached differently for different people.

We would do well not to ridicule these people. If things go as they seem to be going, we will all find ourselves with them again, over <<==== there. While the people we formerly supported are racing ====>> over there.

Unless, of course, you yourself are are on your way, happily heading ====>> that way.
