are sometimes much more demonstrative about showing affection than the rest of us(something that the rest of us, in my view, should actually feel a bit embarassed about because of the repression WE are displaying in not being demonstrative).

Therefore, there was no reason for the pool owner to assume that these two men were gay at all(not that it should have mattered, of course, because obviously it shouldn't). This was a guy kicking people out of the pool just because they made him uncomfortable.
