The man's essential worldview is that of an establishment conservative--not a teabagger, of course, but someone who believes that the 60s were characterized by "excesses," Reagan was a transformational resident, market solutions are always the best, changes must be made very slowly, so-called "free trade" is good for everyone, big gubmint is wicked, etc.

A Reaganite, in other words.
