so many dramatic true stories on this thread. i was just crying reading them all.
i lost my mother only five months before she died. what you and your sister (and your mother!) must have endured for decades. so, so sorry...

dad dropped dead of a heart attack 11-23-68 - i was 13, he was 49. twelve years later, to the day, my mother succumbed to cancer secondary to a massive CVA - the stroke is when i lost my mom in a huge sense. she was 54. i still believe that her dying on his anniversary is meaningful. she waited til the day, or so i believe, even though she was aphasic from the stroke so we can never be certain.
