Microsoft sues Barnes & Noble over Android-based Nook e-reader

Microsoft today sued Barnes & Noble and manufacturers Foxconn and Inventec over their Nook e-readers and tablets, alleging the devices infringe Microsoft patents.

The lawsuit continues recent action in the technology industry against manufacturers of gadgets running Google’s Android operating system. Microsoft said the patents in question involve touch-screen navigation and browser-based Web surfing.
