they mocked him for talking non-stop about the internet, sponsoring funding for the internet, pushing every government agency to construct a user-friendly website, pushing every government agency to make reams of information available online.

and then they mocked him for saying that he did more than anyone else IN CONGRESS to create the internet, a statement that no one with actual comprehension of the english language or of the history of the internet could possibly dispute.
