Day TwoCandlelight Vigil on the evening of the second day of Occupy Wall Street.

Day 4: At least five arrested, one may be in critical condition

Heavy police presence. The 1%ers really have bought themselves lots of protection from the 99%ers

More from what I believe is the official site of the protest:

A Message From Occupied Wall Street

Published 2011-09-20 12:50:30 UTC by OccupyWallSt

We're still here. We intend to stay until we see movements toward real change in our country and the world. This is the third communiqué from the 99 percent.

Today, we occupied Wall Street from the heart of the Financial District. Starting at 8:00 AM, we began a march through the Wall Street area, rolling through the blocks around the New York Stock Exchange. At 9:30 AM, we rang our own "morning bell" to start a "people's exchange," which we brought back to Liberty Plaza. Two more marches occurred during the day around the Wall Street district, each drawing more supporters to us.

Hundreds of us have been occupying One Liberty Plaza, a park in the heart of the Wall Street district, since Saturday afternoon. We have marched on the Financial District, held a candlelight vigil to honor the fallen victims of Wall Street, and filled the plaza with song, dance, and spontaneous acts of liberation.

Food has been donated to the plaza from supporters all over the world. Online donations for pizza, falafels, and other food are coming in from supporters in Omaha, Madrid, Montreal, and other cities, and have exceeded $8,660 . (Link to donate: www.wepay.com/donate/99275)

They have retained a law firm to handle arrests and other legal issues also.

Day Four

The protesters had set up their own media equipment to cover the protests.

Here is video of another arrest. He is one of the organizers who was just using a megaphone to speak to the people gathered in the park. I do not have his name yet.

Also arrested today:

This is Jason Amadi. He has since been released and spoke to Democracy Now's Amy Goodman on NPR. You can see what he has to say here.

I do not have this protester's name either, although I believe she gave to witnesses before she was led away.

Censorship of occupywallstreet by Yahoo?

There have been many reports from people that Yahoo is blocking their emails if they mention #accupywallstreet.

Think Progress now verifies that the rumors are true:

Yahoo Censoring Emails Referring to #occupywallstreet

Protests (Updated)
By Lee Fang on Sep 20, 2011 at 1:50 pm

Yahoo blocks users from sending e-mails about the OccupyWallSt.org website with a message claiming "suspicious activity"
Thinking about e-mailing your friends and neighbors about the protests against Wall Street happening right now? If you have a Yahoo e-mail account, think again. ThinkProgress has reviewed claims that Yahoo is censoring e-mails relating to the protest and found that after several attempts on multiple accounts, we too were prevented from sending messages about the “Occupy Wall Street” demonstrations.

Over the weekend, thousands gathered for a “Tahrir Square”-style protest of Wall Street’s domination of American politics. The protesters, organized online and by organizations like Adbusters, have called their effort “Occupy Wall Street” and have set up the website: www.OccupyWallSt.org. However, several YouTube users posted videos of themselves trying to email a message inviting their friends to visit the Occupy Wall St campaign website, only to be blocked repeatedly by Yahoo. View a video of ThinkProgress making the attempt with the same blocked message experienced by others (click full screen for a better view of the text)

UPDATE Yahoo apologizes for blocking emails. Says it was unintentional:

Yahoo! apologises for blocking Wall Street protest emails

Yahoo! has apologised for blocking emails that contained content about the protests currently underway in Wall Street. As reports emerged on Twitter that several Yahoo! users had difficulty sending emails as soon as they included a link to the protesters’ website occupywallstreet.org, members of the Storyful team attempted the same thing. The result? “Your message was not sent. Suspicious activity has been detected on your account.”

We apologize 4 blocking 'occupywallst.org' It was not intentional & caught by our spam filters. It is resolved, but may be a residual delay

We have to take them at their word. Twitter too has been said to be censoring the hash tag #occupywallstreet. It got over 1.3 million tweets in 48 hours this weekend, but wasn't trending from what I understand. No statement from them so far. It's too bad if they did that, as they were so helpful to the Egyptians when Mubarak killed the Internet, giving tech advice on how they could get around the block.

There is no doubt who these guys are working for ~ protect that bull at all costs!

One thing is certain. The World is watching this protest and supporting it. Even if there are not millions actually on the street, yet, there are millions watching, regardless of virtually no media coverage, and millions sending their support from across the country and the globe. Because all of them have been victims of Wall St.'s greed.

Bravo and a huge thanks to those who are in NYC tonight on our behalf.

I am trying to collect info, telephone numbers etc. of Unions, Homeless and Unemployed advocacy groups, Veterans groups etc to let them know about this. The Assembly agreed I believe to try to contact other large groups who are also affected by Wall St corruption.

Also calling all my friends in NY to tell them to go and bring friends and families. If you can't be there physically, it doesn't matter, there is a lot we can do to help them from wherever we are.
