28. Your DIad
What a wonderful and inspiring message. I'm a few years younger than your dad is and was "A child of the sixties." I can't understand what has happened to the spark that my generation used to have. I knew many young men during that time who hated war and questioned Viet Nam, but served their country anyway. Questioning our country's objectives later, by many who had served such as John Kerry or Ron Kovic, subjected these veterans to much ridicule by many who were "chicken hawks." Black soldiers were definitely devastated in larger numbers. The national wound that was Viet Nam is still not healed. I can't believe how our current leaders who grew up in that era (Obama, of course being too young) willfully making the same mistakes.
