If there's anybody out in DU Land who also likes Mary Travers, then it would probably hold that you and those people saw in her the same virtues and dedication.

If I did not know you admired her and her work, I would have no choice anyway but to compare some of the ground you are covering in your posts here with the ground she covered with her career. I recall the Chicago police holding weaponry to her head as she sang peace songs on the back of a flatbed truck during the 1968 Democratic Convention. There were many people inside the hall who were trying to fight for the same things Mary Travers was standing for, so she was really singing those songs to the (mostly) men in the Pentagon, some many states away.

My hope is that despite the torrent of horseshit you get from certain posters when you put together fine writing with clear form and inspired, informed content, that someone staying up late in the House of Representatives in Washington, or hell, even the White House, will log on while they wait for that late-night pizza to be delivered, or Chinese take-out -- that they'll log on to DU and read your post. Let it hit them, and let it hit them true and blue.
