just like it guaranteed Reagan's election.

I strongly disagree with a lot of what they're doing down there, but I understand both that there are political realities preventing some things and forcing others, and that NO President is ever going to reflect my personal views on every issue.

Calling for a Presidential primary ranges from naivete to idiocy. Or perhaps a hidden desire to sink Obama's Presidency.

A primary would define the challenger as "liberal" and that would never make it in the general election. Even if Obama wins, don't doubt for a minute that Republicans would be attacking both Obama and the challenger thoughout the primary season and Obama particulalry would be damaged going into the election.

As with Carter, the existence of a primary challenge shows weakness, and we will never elect a President perceived as weak.
