Sony engaged in factory-set pricing long before Apple. I never hear people posting on DU about Sony, though. Many manufacturers do this. When you have a quality, popular product that people are willing to pay for, what is the point of discounting it and allowing WalMart to eat market share away from your loyal dealers? It's retail 101. If you can't afford an iPod, don't buy one. You can probably get a Zune at WalMart for next to nothing -- because that's what they're worth. It's 100% your decision.
