But adult or not, she's still Sarah Palin's child and attacking her is still going to benefit Sarah.

Have you folks stopped to think why Sarah Palin has put her family out there in the first place? I'm sure a good part of it has to do with constructing the Sarah Palin brand as a family woman etc. But the more cynical side of me also thinks it's partly a dare. I imagine pollsters know that attacking a politician's family usually helps the politician more than it hurts them. So she has nothing to lose by putting her kids out there, but potentially something to gain if they are attacked and it creates sympathy.

A lot of voters are parents, including of adult children.
