These fuckers do indeed need to be charged with assault. If they indeed felt threatened, the correct action was to let the cops or security guys know, and let them deal with it, as opposed to curbstomping her. The cops have all sorts of training to 1. Evaluate the threat - they probably would have talked to her, found she was unarmed and harmless, talked with her, probably let her do her thing and leave, and if hypothetically speaking, they found she was a threat, then 2, they could escort her from the premises, or arrest her, or otherwise ensure she isn't a threat.

Lots of options that don't involve curbstomping.
