Reply #23: I got a late notice on my sewer bill this month

I called to check and they hadn't gotten my payment. Had to move my desk today, and I found the stamped envelope from last month in the back of it. Apparently if that had happened to a fire department charge that gets sent out once a year, I would have deserved to have my house burn down, and possibly my neighbors' houses as well.
