32. The problem with WWII is WWI: the former was a direct result of the latter.
The "Western Powers" basically fought WWI because England decided it didn't want to compete with Germany on the High Seas. They snookered the United States into fighting for their own commercial interests, and we swallowed it hook, line, & sinker.

Then came the travesty of Versailles - a travesty that allowed such grubby little hate-mongers like Adolf Hitler to rise to power in a Depression-era Germany hit hard by inflation and starvation. A pre-WWI Germany would've seen demagogic scum like Hitler hung for sedition before it saw him given even the power of a county postal clerk.

I do not have the time or inclination to address this OP with the 20,000 word essay it deserves, but suffice it to say: No WWI, No WWII. And no Holocaust. And no tens of millions of dead for no good reason.

We had to put an end to Hitler, no doubt. But there would have been no Hitler had there not been a WWI. The allied powers - particularly those whose axis revolved around the Triple Entente - need to own a little bit of that. And perhaps a bit more. So does the United States, I am sorry to say.
