The greybeard husband was pointedly scolding his very young looking Asian wife, who didn't seem to understand English very well, over her vegetable selections. She looked deeply unhappy. It was really creepy. I hope she wised up and got the hell out of that situation.

They have a reputation for being docile and eager to please, but I think these women tend to be a lot smarter and more self-interested than their American companions believe them to be.
