53. A fool and her dignity+money are soon parted
Maybe people ought to have to pass at least a basic computer knowledge test and get licensed before they can use broadband, just waay too many who just don't know enough about how to maintain their computer and protect their privacy. Wouldn't surprise me if it becomes necessary and mandatory someday. I can figure out pretty quickly how much one of my neighbors, co-workers, friends and family members know about computers when they have asked me to help them w/ a problem, and they give me remote access.

Many actually cause others to become targets of attacks, because someone has root access to their computer and can use it as a bot online. I am self-taught through reading books+online and have never needed to use tech support. Fortunately one of the first books that I read when I bought my first computer was all about email and online privacy and how easily it can be invaded. Now of course, the common cellphone w/camera is being used to transmit "sext" images. Stupid is as stupid does.

If it got online, it is always there somewhere forever, and no amount of erasing your tracks by destroying your hard drives or deleting accounts can really completely eliminate what has already happened. The internet is like one big camera taking billions of pictures of text and images being transmitted each second. Only https and VPN for example, offers some degree of encrypted protection, but obviously that info can be had if the server that it is sent to, gets cracked or is intercepted by hackers.
