2. On patients, was talking to a local ER doc one day
When I was a street medic I handled ONE 500+ patient who had a heart attack. (NO I never found the vein, and damned be the protocol, they had to use a central vein kit in the ER for a peripheral access)... and perhaps two who were in the 200 pound range, in the course of ten years.

Well a year ago he told me they have one of these a week, and the ER now has a bariatric gurney, as well as two bariatric wheel chairs... they are at a loss to explain it, but they no longer say it is just calories in and calories out. There is something ELSE at play.
