273. They are scared.
Obama's approval ratings are dropping lower than Carter's. But I would advise them not to come out swinging so hard that they knock out all their own voters. People are mad. They see the disaster in the Gulf, they know that they're still unemployed, and you know where they're going to throw that blame (even if it's misplaced) - to the non-incumbent running on the Republican side. If I were Obama right now I'd be trying to re-connect with everyone who voted for me, not causing more in-fighting. Just my two cents.
