78. Primaries are always about Dems vs. Dems
You know that wasn't the issue. It was the idea of grass roots Democratic voters going out of their way to back true liberal candidates instead of the DLC approved corporate rubber stampers that Rahm is shoving down our throats. Yes with Obama's approval I'm sure, but Obama isn't the one that denigrated and insulted the left base.

Unfortunately Obama has been, from early on I gather, swamped with DLC good ole boys, who have convinced him to veer right and to snub progressive ideas that he himself championed early on in his career. It's pretty obvious the theme is: move to the right even before you start bargaining to "throw them off". They will be forced to come to some kind of agreement when you indicate you will move even further to the right for them. But as Rahm and Obama are getting ready to touch their toes, surprise surprise, the Party of No earns its name once again.

But its almost as if they have positioned themselves and now they don't have a plan B. I think deep down Rahm knows he made a tactical, if not moral, error, and he is pissed whenever someone on the left reminds him of that, and so he just lashes out with name-calling and digs his heels in a little further.
