12. Not buying it
I often suspect when a candidate like Obama appears from nowhere that there's a media agenda to divide existing allegiances by throwing in another player. But if that was their game, in this case I think they came up with a good choice. Hillary's a different matter - she has the name, the connections, the machine, so she didn't need such a boost. So I don't really buy it.

I do think '08 will be won on policies. The smear machine will be on overdrive, so forget personalities - everybody's name will be mud before this is over. A victorious Democrat will be one who can rip the GOP record to shreds on principled grounds. And Democrats will need to learn to enjoy the taste of blood.
