If you read skinny threads on DU you'll see they're loaded with pictures of thin women who are to be laughed at and dissected and derided openly. The posts on those threads are positively hateful and filled with bile. As though anorexics and thin people are all responsible for the culture's obsession with thinness. Disabled people are snickered at in the street and openly gawked at by children. Sometimes they get beaten and mugged because their vulnerability is obvious. So, there ya go. It's no picnic for them either.
