6. And in the "richest country in the world"....
Reports like this just make me want to scream! How in the HELL can Wall Street justify their orgy of greed....oh, yeah, wait a minute, it's Wall Street; how could I be so insensitive to their "needs"!

But it is quite telling. Just adding these numbers in my head, along with the numbers of Americans losing their homes,(do we even HEAR about how many rental eviction notices are being filed?),the number of Americans on Food Stamps, etc..... these are the REAL numbers of the economy. Sure, 10% unemployment doesn't sound bad, even the "real" unemployment of around 17% doesn't sound too bad, but reports like the one in the OP reveal the true picture. Hell, I can think of 5 people just off the top of my head (excluding myself) that are jobless that don't count in the official unemployment numbers. I know of 2 people that have been unemployed for so long that they have applied for (one of them actually now receive) SSDI just to have some kind of money coming in. Both of those people have been forced to "double up" with friends and family members.

Nobody, especially M$M, wants us to know how bad it really is out there. Thank God for DU!
