Also, you have to look at the bottom line in regards to jobs coming and going. Sure, some jobs have been created, but far more jobs have been lost. You need to at least break even with jobs and the current account, but with our insane trade policies we are losing our ass with both. We have a 15 trillion dollar economy and when ours goes into the trash, most of the rest of the world ends up there with us. We need fair trade, not the fake free trade we've been embracing the past three decades.
