Those who support Obama and the "HCR" bill that we will wind up with are now touting

the "support" of liberals who now say "Pass the bill" as proof that it is worthwhile.

To me, that has as much validity as citing the repukes from last century who helped pass civil rights legislation as proof that the GOP is pro-equality.

Or the BS that since the insurance corps had been fighting "reform" so it must be bad for them and good for us.

Timing is important, even crucial to this. The insurance corps put millions of dollars toward shaping the debate and directing the bill toward their ends, not to actually defeat any kind of "reform" bill from being passed.

We all know the realignment and party-switching that took place back in the era of (racial) civil rights legislation.

Likewise, those libs supporting this bill now recognize that we, the people, have lost and this bill, as bad as it is, is all that will ever be done to address the farce know as medical care in the U.S. A slice of stale bread is better than no loaf at all.

A final word on timing - will Obama whole-heartedly embrace the bill when it reaches his desk, saying how great it is and how we have "saved healthcare for the American people" or will he then think it is safe to express any reservations about what is left out (PO, etc.)? If he chooses Door #2, I would call that a case of bad (and hypocritical) timing.
