As for "pretending we will get everything we want NOW" - that's a laugh. We didn't even try. We watered down and compromised and watered down, and watered down some more. Insurance companies and big Pharm are the interests "getting everything we want NOW."

Other countries in the civilized world can do good and right their citizens in their rights to health care. We cannot.

As to the rest of your question, watching Democrats support this caricature of a "liberal" party that forces a mandate on the public, one without a public option and other regulation with guaranteed teeth-- and watching it sell out to ANY legislation that sacrifices women's reproductive rights, health, & choice is something I never dreamed I'd see.

At this point, I am out of the prediction business.
