Shooting Near University of Missouri-Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Reports out of Columiba say that one person was shot near the campus of the the University of Missouri.

The shooting happened at the Coner of Grindstone Parkway and Bearfield Road shortly before 3:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim was later found at Reactor Field after a traffic stoop by an off-duty police officer, according to KOMU out of Columbia.

Reports said 3 area elementary schools were locked down as a precaution, but students have since been released. The University of Missouri was never in lockdown said MU Public Relations Officer Mary Jo Banken
