9. Perhaps you may want to go back to stats class
You may not have noticed, but Congressional approval ratings are almost always fairly low, yet most people tend to support their own Congressperson and rate them higher than others.

Another point is that the reason Congress tend to get lower numbers is because when you look at those who disapprove of them, some do so because they disagree with their platforms and think Congress goes too far, and some because they think Congress does not go far enough with real change. In other words, even if 80% disapprove of Congressperson X, 40% of them may still be supporters who want them to be tougher, and 40% may support their opponent.

Anyway, welcome to DU. A hint: you may want to try to do more than just repeat things - instead of complaining about how awful the government is and discussing that things are tied (something which has no basis in reality), perhaps you could try being more active to bring about meaningful change and debate. Get invested in local politics, volunteer for charity to advocate for the poor, or even run for office yourself.

This is why I do not understand anti-government attitudes from people like yourself. Instead of being the government (you know, like how the Constitution says we are the power behind the government), you just complain about it without wanting to do any of the heavy lifting. And the right faisl at this time and time again: they think their teabag rabble rousing is being the government, but they are not only just complaining (and I fully support the right to protest), but they are not even complaining coherently, intelligently, nor are they making any sense.

Please forgive me if I am misunderstanding your post, btw.
