You asked, and he was very quickly defended. Between 'he didn't mean it' and 'well black crime is high', the right successfully managed to change the debate to blaming the victim. They didn't get to do that this time because that strong group of women stood up for justice.
I have to wonder what would have happened if they'd been some flashy girls from the ghetto - would people have just said 'well they are ho's', and laughed?
