8. Sessions is not very bright.

Some people are cunning but do not have the ability to really understand things. That seems very strange to me, but I have seen it frequently. These are the sorts of people who eventually get caught in some huge lie or swindle. And once they are caught and you find out about the stupid scam they tried to pull, you ask yourself, "How could someone so wealthy be so stupid?" Think Bernie Madoff. There is a guy who really did not understand much, but was able to fool a lot of people and to think up exceedingly clever ways to cheat people. Had he really had the intelligence to analyze what he was doing and what the most likely ultimate outcome would be, he would not have done what he did. He would have stopped very early on, or he would have measured his scheme to protect himself. Think also about the mortgage company moguls. They had the ability to launch their assault on our economy, but they did not have the ability to understand where the whole thing would take them and the country.

These types end up in jail.

As someone once said, bank robbers are really, really stupid. Sessions is really, really stupid. But, he believes his own stupidity to the point that he is really good at persuading voters that he knows what he is doing. He does not. He cannot follow what Sotomayor is saying. He only hears the clatter in his own brain.
