I didn't say to Canada. The costs would be comparable for a US person going to Canada (to staying) since you need to be a resident or citizen to be covered here.

Per capita, far more Americans go abroad (most to Mexico) than Canadians. There was an article posted here this morning. The amount of healthcare tourists a system produces is a good measure of its success/failure, as well as bankruptcies and death. On those measures, the US doesn't look so hot.
