52. What then should the specific response be...?
What then should the specific, appropriate, and valid response be for those who wish to advertise a collective sigh of relief that this specific and particular crisis is over?

On what objective measure is that answer based? Who may and may not appropriately involve themselves in this collective sigh or relief? Does your answer apply to all celebrations, or merely national ones? Does this apply only to the positive (celebrations) or to the negative (outpourings of grief towards the victims) also? If only the former, what is the precise moral difference?

I'm happy that the incident ended as it did-- as far as I know, I'm not a Fascist or a Conservative because of it. As far as I know, I haven't been celebrating the glorification of violence or fostering a death cult. But then again, maybe I have...

I've often found that when someone righteously proclaims, "j'accuse!!!", that same indictment of my own personal motives and agendas usually has little more depth of philosophy or reason than the bumper sticker it was copied from.
