28. It is a strong correlation.

I was an employment counselor before I got into recruiting, and one of the first things they taught us, in assisting people who have lost jobs, is the relationship between depression or self-worth, and losing a job. Your feelings are normal. Try to fight letting it get you down. Remember that a large chunk of the population is going through this, and it has nothing to do with your VALUE.

I sincerely hope you get a lucky break soon. But keep this in mind, just to be realistic.... unemployment is a lagging indicator. That means it could take a while to pick back up, even after the stock market, housing, spending, etc have picked up. Don't let it get you down if everything else has looked up and you are still looking. Be patient and stay positive.
