12. Here's what I do
get a cultivator & till up the size of garden I want (basically get the soil loose). Put layers of newspaper (& mulch if you want), wet it down. Go to Walmart (or place of your choice) & get some "no dig" edging (you pound it into the ground with a rubber mallet). Then get as much soil as you want from a garden center or where ever (I got mine at Lowe's, an organic mix made in Texas). Dump the soil into the garden, spread it around. Stake it off, like they show you in SFG. Get seeds or seedlings. When you plant them, get down in the hole & pierce the newspaper layer (so the roots can grow). Plant, water, enjoy. :)
