Good Afternoon. I do not live in Alabama, but I am contacting you on behalf of a friend of mine who lives in your district. He is a carpenter, and like so many has been laid off. He was denied unemployment because of a paperwork error, and now has to wait 6-8 weeks just for his appeal to be heard. He has been looking for work, any work, and so far has not found a thing. He has contacted your office, and has gotten no help. I don't know how you expect him to survive for 2 months without any unemployment benefits. He is 'entitled' to receive the insurance he has paid into for years, and the State appears to be making it as hard as possible for him to claim what is rightly his. There must be a way for the State of Alabama to streamline this process so that he can survive. Please help him.
