60. your post is truly arrogant.
"...he touched on every issue that was important to us in the campaign..." Really?!!! Did he touch on the full and vigorous prosecution of bush/cheney, inc crimes? he did not. said he'd kinda look into it, maybe. this was and is my number one issue and is important to many of US, from which you would seem to like to exclude US. Did he touch on a real investigation of 9/11 instead of the whitewash whose recommendations no one is implementing anyway? uh, no. but i guess you've reserved to decide the right to determine what is important.

"...No one president in 4 years or even 8 years can change our situation very much, let alone turn it around..." Really?!!! Who says? You and Obama, and the washington establishment, I think. Your statement is certainly true if one proceeds as Obama is, by "reaching across the aisle" to the source of the problem, not that we don't have enough collaborators on "our" side of the aisle.

"..His apparent softening on campaign promises and subsequent connections and appointments may at first inflame people like me, but then reality sets in. He cannot take campaign stands on Presidential actions. The Republicans would love to characterize him as a socio-Marxist and win over most of the country. Remember " better dead than red " has unbelievable power. There are not yet enough people out of work or financial disasters to take giant steps toward change." You really ought to be ashamed of yourself shoving that right wing shit down our throats as if you're on "our" side. It is because the dems as well as the repubs have vilified the the true patriotic left that such a statement ever gained any traction. The dems use shit like that to excuse their right wing tendencies and you're just helping. there's no validity to it, so don't use it against "us".

people like you make we want to "bash" all the more.

yours is a disgustingly simplistic and narrow-minded position. "people first", my ass
