I get that type of argument from Republicans all the time. "You'd hate like I do if you'd only been through what I've been through." Always personalized and anecdotal. I've always tried to live beyond just what affected me. But I've had plenty of reason to hate in my life. And I've hated with the best of them. It just does nothing but eat me up, and doesn't change anyone else, and at the root of it, most of the people who have wronged me have done so because of hatred of their own. So I'm making things worse by hating.

But no, I'm not gay, so I don't have your experiences, and I can't say I don't understand it. Maybe it's even the right reaction, I don't know. It just feels wrong. Even your "KKKristian" comment feels wrong. And as an atheist, I've been the object of their hatred a few times, too, so I'm sure not sticking up for them.
