similar to bisexuality, homosexuality and heterosexuality. The orientation has little to do with celibacy or abstinence (which have to do with depriving yourself of something desireable) it has to do with not being interested in being sexually active.

I don't know if this woman identifies as asexual, but her comments suggest she might be. (I probably wouldn't have been aware of this orientation, except I have a friend who identifies as asexual.)
