Bailout Bill - Suggested Action and Wording

Suggest that we each contact our senators and representatives today. This is not something that can wait as they are writing the final draft as we speak.

I have sent (faxed) my concern to my senators and representatives this morning - as well as Senator Dodd and soon Senator Schumer in their Washington offices. Would welcome names of others working on this bill to fax/email them this afternoon.

If this bill has to happen and happen quickly, I recommend that we ask that there be a time limit to this action - to be reviewed by congress in 60-90 days. The new congress and the new president will most likely have more information on how best to resolve this in January.

AND, no matter what, there needs to be congressional committee oversight of any and all actions taken by the Treasury Secretary - or at least any action taken requiring monies in excess of a given amount. And if an emergency arises, that there be a short list of bi-partisan congressional leaders from both the House and the Senate who will review the suggested action and determine if it is indeed in the best of the American taxpayers to follow thru on said action.

Get going people. This is worthy of spending an hour of your time today.
