WASHINGTON, D.C. -- New York Senator Hillary Clinton is reaffirming her support for the AMD plant in Malta.

She met with former CEO Hector Ruiz on Wednesday. Ruiz resigned as CEO last week but has stayed on as AMD's executive chairman.

With Ruiz's departure, along with Joe Bruno's retirement as senator, there has been concern over the future of the project. However, Luther Forest Tech Park officials insist that the project is moving forward as planned.

This is the first time Senator Clinton and Ruiz met since January 2007, when the Saratoga County site was selected.
