166. That's it! You hit the nail on the head with this...
..."I'm starting to feel like a stranger here. I feel like I've lost my island of sanity and reasonable thought."

I'm sort of 'grieving' for the camaraderie and feeling of belonging to a like minded group of individuals. For all the superb conversation and heated intelligent debate and the wealth of 'hot off the press' inside information - I learned more in the past 4 years than I did in the prior 50. For all the caring and sharing that went on - roses for this one - a 'whip-round' for someone in need or just kind words for one of ours that was suffering. I miss it all so much.

I'll never forget the joy and relief when I first found DU. Now, apart from the odd post, it just bores and saddens me.

Habit has me still logging in, but now it's only once every few days or so for LBN and a quick scan of the 'Greatest', then I log out before I start to feel 'icky'.

I keep asking myself why, after 8 years of fighting so hard to get a Democratic President, am I not particularly excited or energized by the thought that we'll probably get one in Nov?
