Re-read this paragraph, and consider how well this bunch read the polls just before the November elections, when Karl Rove was boasting that he had "the" numbers:

Polls continue to show substantial opposition to the president's surge. Those polls, the senior White House official said, are "all depending on how you frame the questions." The public is "more inclined to wait and see how this new strategy works more so than many of our friends on Capitol Hill."


The polls show public opposition, but the mouthpiece says the public is more inclined to wait and see. Uh no, dumbass, that's precisely what the polls do not show. It's your many friends on Capitol Hill who are the ones who want to bide their time, wait and see, and coincidentally watch more persons callously tossed into the meat grinder. The populations from which the grindees come has had quite enough of all of this, thank you very much.

And if our elected representatives continue to ignore our oft and clearly stated desires, they do so at their peril.
