and that rational people do not commit genocide. There is plenty of dogma all over the political and economic landscape.

Also, the positive feedback loops that build up in an unregulated capitalist economy undermine the system because continued consumption require adequate distribution of wealth. A completely laissez faire economy tends to undercut itself. A

nother concern is the reliance on exponential growth in a world with finite resources. We keep consuming at ever-higher levels, and eventually we are going to run up against scarcity. In the next few decades, we will have to change the way we think about human well-being or face a Malthusian resource crisis.
