Reply #68: 1st or 2nd grade for both of them for Santa...as for Jesus

I think about 8th or 9th grade was when they stopped believing in an actual literal "person" called Jesus. In discussions I think the family has concluded that Jesus is likely a composite myth comprised of about 100 colorful figures in that locale who represented themselves as Prophets, Teachers or the Jewish Messiah spanning about a 100 year period.

I like the Santa and Jesus myths - the good parts anyway. As for Santa, I like the idea of spreading joy and fun to all children on earth. As for Jesus, I deeply love the idea of loving your neighbor as yourself and his attributed rants against the wealthy and insistance that we help the poor, orphans and widows!
