Local and different; pluralism is good.

is either compatible with the market or liberal democracy ?

Socialism is compatible both with a market and with liberal democracy. Communism is not compatible with a "market", at least not the way we presently conceive of one, but might be compatible with liberal democracy depending on how liberal democracy is defined.

is either possible in this country ?

Both are, but not anytime soon.
